Monday, December 29 - “ Dear Anacondas and Families,
Holiday Happening has come and gone, and is always magical (even if frigid temperatures prevail). This year was particularly cold and windy with a much smaller crowd as a result. It was enjoyed by all who participated however. Thanks so much to those of you who gave of your time to help with this year’s event. It was appreciated. I am sorry this is coming to you so late, but this year, the season snuck up on me…….:-))

Congratulations to those who swam last Wednesday and Saturday!!! Thank you to those who worked at either or both of those meets.
B Meet Wednesday, 7/9, at Norbeck Grove (right around the corner on Bowie Mill Road) directions can be found at mcsl.org. We need volunteers so please sign up or contact Kathy Walsh or Chris Pletcher.
Pep Rally at NH pool, 7/11, at 6:30 p.m. Please volunteer to bring fruit/bagels.
A Meet Saturday, 7/12, at HOME vs Lake Marion. This is our 5th and final dual meet!
Divisionals will be held on Saturday, 7/19, at Regency Estates pool. Directions can be found at mcsl.org.
The Annual Swim-a-Thon, Sleepover, and Pancake breakfast weekend will be held on 7/19, so please mark your calendar as this is a change to the original.
- Sleepover - We have our die hard Parents, Harry, Dawn and Jim chaperoning the sleepover once again, but I am sure they can use any help anyone wants to provide. We will also need snacks for the kids for after they play water games and watch movies. A Parent permission slip will be required for all participants. Look for that form to be distributed soon.
- Swim-a-Thon Ms. Gail Cusick will be collecting any funds raised. Forms and envelopes were distributed at last Fridays Pep Rally. If you need a form/envelope, go to the Coaches folder in the Black Anaconda file box in the Guard House. Please start your fund raising efforts now and ask for FLAT DONATIONS as opposed to per lap pledges. All monies collected should be turned in no later than Sunday, 7/20 at the Banquet.
- The Pancake Breakfast will be held on Sunday morning, 7/20. Anyone interested in helping organize and run this event, please let me know asap. We need a couple of volunteers for this event in order to hold it once again this season.
- Finally, this years end of Season Family Award Banquet will be held on Sunday, 7/20 at the Elks Lodge in Rockville off Gude Drive. Due to rising food and rental costs, gas prices, etc., the long time low, low price the Elks have charged must increase. Tickets will be sold at $14.50 each (2 years and under are FREE). All Swimmers, be they Pre-Team or 15-18 will receive a Trophy for their participation. Please see Maureen James for tickets.
We still have a few, jam packed weeks left in this Season, and while everyone is busy, please take this opportunity to step up and volunteer to help with an event if you have not been able to do so yet.
Remember, remember, remember to let the Coaches know IN WRITING on the sign out board, if you will be available for a meet. This is so important to the planning of each meets lineup.
